SportsObama.com can exclusively report that Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has named a 24-man squad for Ghana’s double-header World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville later this month.
According to SportsObama.com sources, experienced midfielder Mubarak Wakasu has been left out of Appiah’s team again.
The Deportivo Alaves man has not been called into any of Appiah’s team’s since his return to Ghana and raising questions over his exclusion.
Appiah has however named a strong side that will take on Congo at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the first day of September.
Meanwhile, two local-based players in Aduana Stars goalie Joseph Addo and WAFA’s Gideon have been included.
Norway-based winger Edwin Gyansi has been handed a maiden call-up whiles Alfred Duncan returns to the team.
Sochaux young goalkeeper, Ati-Zigi, who was in superb shape at the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup, has been named for the first time following his move to French side FC Sochaux.
